Detailed description
Detailed description
The XSONIC Airmar TM185M is a CHIRP transducer designed for transom mounting, delivering precise detection performance for freshwater and offshore anglers in shallow to mid-depth waters. This model features CHIRP technology for improved resolution and optimized target separation.
CHIRP Technology and Performance
The TM185M operates in the mid-band CHIRP frequency range of 85 to 135 kHz, providing a total bandwidth of 50 kHz. This frequency range enables fish detection and bottom tracking at depths up to 457 meters (1500 feet). Its nominal power output of 1 kW (1000 Watts) ensures effective water column penetration. The transducer features a variable beam width of 16° to 11°, tailored to cover an area beneath the boat while maintaining accuracy.
Design and Integration
Designed for maximum versatility, the TM185M is compatible with all hull types (wood, fiberglass, aluminum, and steel) and suitable for transom angles from 3° to 21°. It provides depth and water temperature data with rapid response. The seamless urethane construction (SEALCAST™) and stainless steel housing ensure durability in marine environments. Weighing approximately 4.2 kg (9.2 lbs), it comes with a 10-meter cable and a 9-pin Navico connector, or a Mix and Match™ configuration with adapter.
Advanced Features
The transducer integrates Airmar’s patented Xducer ID® technology, enabling automatic configuration of the fishfinder for optimized performance. This function also provides continuous monitoring of ceramic operating temperature and displays transducer profile information on the fishfinder. These capabilities contribute to clear imagery and precise detection of structures and fish, even at high boat speeds.
