Detailed description
Detailed description
The RAYMARINE B175L BB TH A80045 transducer is a bronze through-hull designed for Raymarine CHIRP fishfinder systems. With its 12-degree profiled element, this transducer fits hulls with a deadrise angle of 8 to 15 degrees, eliminating the need for an additional fairing block and simplifying installation.
Low-frequency CHIRP performance
The "L" designation in B175L indicates operation at low frequency (Low CHIRP), typically in the 40 to 60 kHz range. This frequency range is particularly suited for deep-water detection, allowing significant depth penetration while maintaining effective target resolution. Unlike "M" (Medium CHIRP, 80-130 kHz) or "H" (High CHIRP, 130-210 kHz) transducers, which offer better target separation at shallower depths, the B175L excels in water column penetration and deep-sea floor detection. It differs from B175M or B175H models by providing reliable data for deep-sea fishing or exploration of deep structures.
Design and integration
Made of bronze, this through-hull transducer (BB TH for "Bronze Through-Hull") is robust and resistant to marine environments, suitable for fiberglass or wooden hulls. Its 12-degree profiled design ensures a vertically oriented beam even on an angled hull, optimizing detection performance. This model is an essential component for Raymarine CHIRP-compatible chartplotters and fishfinders, integrating seamlessly with Axiom, Element multifunction displays, or other units compatible with Raymarine’s CHIRP technology. For installations where through-hull mounting is not possible, alternatives such as transom-mount transducers (e.g., TM185L) exist, but the through-hull solution of the B175L offers superior hydrodynamic performance and enhanced sensor protection.
