Detailed description
Detailed description
The Raymarine A80446 bronze through-hull transducer is designed for seabed detection using HIGH CHIRP conical beam technology. This transducer, characterized by its 0° beam angle, is specifically suited to hulls with little or no deadrise at the installation point, ensuring optimal beam orientation for precise readings.
CHIRP Sonar Technology and Compliance
Integrated into Raymarine’s CPT-S series, this transducer uses a high-frequency conical CHIRP beam to provide improved target discrimination and image clarity compared to traditional fixed-frequency transducers. The CHIRP technology sweeps a wide frequency band, enabling more precise differentiation between fish and structures. The product complies with European directives 2013/53/EU and the harmonized standard EN ISO 8846:2017, attesting to its safety and electromagnetic compatibility in marine environments.
Positioning and Installation
Compared to other models in the CPT-S range, such as the 12° angle versions (E70340/A80447) or 20° angle versions (E70341/A80448), or the plastic variants (E70339), the A80446 bronze 0° transducer is preferred for its robustness and durability in saltwater environments, as well as its suitability for straight hulls. It comes with a 10-meter cable, facilitating connection to a compatible Raymarine sounder module. The through-hull installation ensures minimal hydrodynamic performance loss and protection against impact damage, provided the mounting instructions for fiberglass hulls—whether solid or sandwich-core—are strictly followed.
