DownVision CP100 Fishfinder Module

The Raymarine CP100 fishfinder module is an external solution designed to extend the capabilities of your navigation system. The CP100 sounder module is designed to be compatible with Raymarine multifunction displays that support CHIRP DownVision technology and external sounder module integration. Installing the CP100 module requires careful cable routing, a power connection, and connection to a compatible transducer. Raymarine recommends installation by a certified technician to ensure optimal system performance and to maintain the warranty. When installing the CP100 depth sounder module, the following precautions are mandatory:

Ensure the vessel's electrical power is disconnected before starting installation.Protect the module's power supply with a fuse or appropriately rated circuit breaker.Never connect the unit to a system with a positive ground.Never cut the transducer cable, as this will significantly degrade sounder performance, void the warranty, and invalidate the CE mark. Any damaged cable must be replaced; it cannot be repaired.The transducer must be tested and used only in water to prevent overheating.Never attempt to open the device cover or access internal components, as it contains non-user-serviceable high voltages.

The main difference lies in the imaging method. A traditional fishfinder typically emits a single-frequency conical beam to detect underwater objects. In contrast, the CP100 module uses CHIRP DownVision technology, which sends a wide spectrum of frequencies. This approach generates high-resolution images of the underwater world, providing a near-photographic view of structures, the seabed, and fish schools directly beneath the boat. This complements and enhances the data provided by a standard conical fishfinder.

To maintain the optimal performance of the depth sounder connected to the CP100 module, follow these maintenance tips:

Clean the depth sounder regularly with a soft cloth and a neutral household detergent. For significant marine growth, you can use a Scotch Brite™ green pad, taking care not to scratch the surface of the depth sounder. To prevent marine growth buildup, apply a thin coat of water-based antifouling paint to the depth sounder. Renew this application every 6 months or at the start of each sailing season. Never use ketone-based paint or spray paint, as they can damage the depth sounder. If your depth sounder is equipped with a paddlewheel, wet sanding with fine-grit sandpaper can be performed to clean it.

Note: Always disconnect the CP100 module from power before performing any maintenance on the depth sounder.
