Detailed description
Designed for sail and powerboating, the Raymarine Evolution T70156 autopilot is an integrated system comprising the EV-1 sensor, the ACU-200 actuator control unit, and the p70Rs control head. This solution is specifically intended for Type 1 power units, offering compatibility with hydraulic and mechanical steering systems on mid-sized boats.
Evolution system architecture
The system architecture is based on the SeaTalk NG network, facilitating integration of the various components and their interconnection with other Raymarine equipment. The EV-1 sensor, the central element of the Evolution T70156, integrates a 9-axis attitude and heading reference system (AHRS), providing heading, pitch, roll, and yaw rate data. This precision enables the autopilot to maintain a stable course under all sea conditions.
Control unit and user interface
The ACU-200 actuator control unit manages power and control of the Type 1 power unit, ensuring a seamless interface between the EV-1 sensor data and the steering actuator. The p70Rs control head, with its rotary controller and push buttons, provides intuitive autopilot control. It differs from the p70 (push buttons only) by its rotary controller, allowing rapid and precise course adjustments. Raymarine’s Evolution range also includes the ACU-100/150 for smaller power units and the ACU-300/400 for more demanding applications with Type 2 or 3 power units, positioning the ACU-200 as a versatile option for a wide range of vessels.
