« Optimized radar installation with Raymarine mast mount »

Compatibility of this mount must be verified against the exact radome reference and its protection configuration, not merely the nominal diameter. The Scanstrut guide lists several brands, including Garmin and Raymarine. Mentions of “with radar guard” indicate a configuration with radar protection. An entry without this mention does not by itself confirm a configuration without protection. The guide does not explicitly name the Fantom 18x/24x: their compatibility remains to be confirmed with the manufacturer.

Frequently Asked Questions

Need help? Contact us

What is the Raymarine M92722 mast bracket used for?

The M92722 allows mounting Scanstrut-listed radomes on a mast. It is not limited to Raymarine 18-inch radomes only. Verify the exact radar reference and protection configuration before installation.

What material is the M92722 mast bracket made of and what is its color?

The Raymarine M92722 mast mount is made of white-colored aluminum. This material was selected for its resistance to corrosion in marine environments and its lightweight properties.

What are the benefits of mast mounting for my radar antenna with this bracket?

Installing the radar dome antenna on the mast using the M92722 mount raises it above potential obstructions from the deck, superstructures, or sails. This elevation maximizes the radar's line of sight, significantly improving its ability to detect distant targets and provide a clear image of the maritime environment. This positioning is particularly beneficial for coastal navigation and obstacle detection.

Which types of radar antennas is the M92722 mount compatible with?

The Scanstrut guide lists models from several brands, including the Garmin Fantom 24 and Fantom 24 with radar guard. The full manufacturer list is provided in the description. Mentions of « with radar guard » indicate a configuration with radar protection. An entry without this mention does not by itself confirm a configuration without protection. The guide does not explicitly name the Fantom 18x/24x: their compatibility must be confirmed with the manufacturer.

Can I use this mount with a radar antenna from a brand other than Raymarine or with a different size?

Yes, the Scanstrut guide lists radomes from several brands, including Garmin and Raymarine. Compatibility depends on the exact model and the configuration indicated, not just the nominal diameter. The Fantom 18x/24x units are not explicitly named: their compatibility remains to be confirmed with the manufacturer.

Is the installation of the M92722 mast bracket complex?

Installation must comply with the support and radome instructions as well as mast constraints. Check the radar reference in the Scanstrut list and its protection configuration; do not infer compatibility solely from the antenna diameter.

Are specific tools required to install the M92722 mast mount?

Although the exact tools are not specified in the product information, installing a mast bracket typically requires basic marine mounting tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, and potentially a drill for securing to the mast. It is strongly recommended to consult the installation manual provided by Raymarine for detailed instructions and the precise list of required tools.

Is this mount resistant to harsh marine conditions?

Yes, the Raymarine M92722 mast bracket is made of aluminum, a material specifically chosen for its strength and corrosion resistance in marine environments. Its design ensures secure and stable mounting of the radar antenna even in demanding maritime conditions.
