Detailed description
Detailed description
Designed for recreational boating and semi-professional use, the Raymarine Quantum Q24C radar antenna integrates the Doppler technology from the Quantum 2 range. This 18-inch compact radome offers advanced target detection and improved echo separation thanks to CHIRP pulse compression. The Q24C model positions itself as a collision monitoring and prevention solution for mid-sized vessels, providing features typically associated with larger systems.
Doppler Technology and Advanced Safety
The Quantum 2 Doppler Radar features Doppler detection technology that identifies and colors moving targets, facilitating quick interpretation of hazardous situations. Approaching targets are displayed in red, while those moving away are in green, enabling instant visual assessment of collision threats. This functionality represents an evolution over first-generation Quantum radars, which focused primarily on pulse compression without Doppler analysis of moving targets. Compared to competing systems such as Garmin’s Fantom radars or Furuno’s DRS4D-NXT, the Quantum 2 Q24C offers a compact and efficient alternative for integration with Raymarine multifunction displays.
Integration and Technical Specifications
The Quantum Q24C radar antenna is designed for wired integration via the RayNet network, ensuring a stable and fast connection. It is compatible with a wide range of Raymarine multifunction displays, including the Axiom series. Installation requires a Doppler data source and radar target acquisition data (MARPA/automatic acquisition) to fully exploit its capabilities. Model T70243 is supplied with 10-meter power and data cables, simplifying the installation process for many configurations. Environmental and power specifications comply with marine requirements, ensuring reliable operation in various conditions.
