Detailed description
Detailed description
Designed for long-range detection and targeted reconnaissance, the Raymarine Cyclone Pro 110 Watts radar with a 6-foot beam antenna (T70496) represents an advanced solution for demanding navigation. This system integrates a 6-foot beam antenna offering angular resolution suited to medium to large vessels, and 110 Watts of power for extended detection range. The Pro model stands out with improved signal processing capabilities and Doppler features for better interpretation of moving targets. It comes with a 15-meter RayNet radar cable for direct network integration.
Positioning and technical specifications
The Cyclone Pro 110 Watts with a 6-foot antenna falls within Raymarine’s open-array radar range, positioning itself as a mid-to-high power option compared to the 55 Watts Cyclone Pro models, and below the 220 Watts models. The 6-foot antenna provides a balance between compactness and performance, outperforming 4-foot antennas in resolution while being more manageable than 8-foot versions for certain vessel types. This configuration is ideal for yachts, offshore cruising sailboats, and small workboats requiring reliable and precise detection in various sea conditions. The integration of Doppler technology enables rapid identification of hazardous targets by their relative motion.
Integration and compatibility
The Cyclone Pro system requires a VCM100 voltage converter module for power supply, included in the pack. Its RayNet connectivity ensures native compatibility with Raymarine multifunction displays (MFD) from the Axiom, Axiom Pro, and Axiom XL series, as well as other LightHouse-compatible MFDs, for smooth visualization and control. ARPA software requirements are specified for target acquisition and tracking, ensuring optimized situational awareness. Regular software updates are recommended to benefit from the latest performance and security improvements. This radar is an alternative to competing offerings such as Garmin’s Fantom radars or Furuno’s DRS-NXT, providing its own suite of image processing and Doppler detection technologies.
