Detailed description
Detailed description
Designed for modern navigation systems, the Raymarine Raystar 150 antenna is an external GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) receiver that provides positioning and heading data with a 10 Hz update rate. This antenna is compatible with GPS and Glonass systems, offering a fast and accurate GNSS data source for chartplotters, autopilots, and other instruments connected via Raymarine’s SeaTalkng® network.
Integration and Performance of the Raystar 150
Integration with the SeaTalkng® network simplifies installation and communication with all compatible Raymarine equipment, such as the Axiom or Element series. Unlike GPS receivers integrated into multifunction displays or older 1 Hz antennas, the Raystar 150 ensures smoother chart movements and optimal responsiveness of autopilot systems thanks to its high refresh rate. The included pack features a specific adapter for tubular mounting, providing installation flexibility on masts, arches, or rails, where an unobstructed view of the sky is essential for stable and high-performance satellite reception.
Positioning and Compatibility
The Raystar 150 is positioned as a dedicated GNSS antenna, essential for installations requiring a reliable, high-frequency GPS source. It enhances Raymarine systems by providing high-quality raw data, which is particularly beneficial for high-speed navigation or applications where bottom-track position and speed accuracy are critical. This receiver maintains an up-to-date firmware version (v1.29 as of 08-2024), ensuring compatibility and performance within current Raymarine ecosystems. The included tubular mount enables a clean and optimized installation to maximize satellite reception.
