Detailed description
Detailed description
The Raymarine RCR-1 (A80585) remote card reader is designed to extend the connectivity capabilities of Axiom multifunction displays. It provides flexible access to navigation data and software updates, particularly useful in installations where direct access to the display’s ports is limited.
Connectivity and versatility
This reader includes an SD card slot, compatible with MicroSD memory cards via an adapter supplied with most cards. It simplifies the use of electronic cartography and the transfer of user data, such as waypoints. A USB port is also present for connecting external storage devices like USB flash drives, and provides a charging function for compatible USB devices. The RCR-1 operates on 5VDC power and is designed for marine use with IPX6 and IPX7 waterproofing certification, ensuring resistance to water spray and temporary immersion.
Integration and installation
The RCR-1 is installed via surface mounting, using the supplied mounting template (87292) to drill the necessary holes. The reader comes with a 1-meter (3.28 ft) cable for connection to the Axiom multifunction display. To ensure optimal data integrity, suppression ferrites are included and can be installed on the cable to minimize electromagnetic interference. With dimensions of 55 mm by 55 mm, this card reader offers a compact and discreet solution for extending the functionality of your Raymarine navigation system.
