Detailed description
Detailed description
The Raymarine Rotary T2-12V M81136 is a drive unit designed for Raymarine autopilot systems. It is specifically suited for boat steering systems operated from the helm via a chain and pinion, such as cable and rod steering systems.
Design and technical performance
This Type 2 rotary drive integrates a robust electric motor, a precision epicyclic gearbox driven by a high-strength belt, and an electromagnetic clutch. This configuration allows high torque loads to be transmitted without slippage, ensuring smooth and powerful steering. With a nominal voltage of 12V, the M81136 model is suitable for boats up to 20,000 kg (44,000 lb) displacement. It delivers a maximum output torque of 34 Nm (300 lb.in) and achieves a maximum shaft speed of 33 rpm. The recommended time from hard-over to hard-over in neutral is 10 seconds, with a typical average electrical consumption of 60 to 84 W.
Positioning in the Raymarine range
The Raymarine Rotary T2-12V differs from the Type 1 model (M81135), also 12V, which is designed for boats up to 10,000 kg with 20 Nm torque and 24-48 W consumption. The M81136 therefore offers higher load capacity and torque, positioning it for larger vessels. It shares its performance specifications with the Type 2 24V model (M81137), the main difference being supply voltage and associated consumption (72-120 W for 24V). Its design complies with CE 89/336/EC (EMC) and EN60945:1997, and 94/25/EC (RCD) and EN28846:1993 standards, and it is protected for use in engine compartments.
