Detailed description
Detailed description
The Raymarine A06068 SeaTalk NG backbone cable is a fundamental component for setting up a SeaTalk NG network. With a length of 9 meters, it forms the backbone of your installation, ensuring data transmission between all connected devices such as multifunction displays, autopilots, wind sensors, and AIS receivers.
SeaTalk NG network construction
The Raymarine SeaTalk NG system, while based on the NMEA 2000 protocol, uses proprietary connector systems to ensure maximum watertightness and reliability. This 9-meter backbone cable is designed to cover long distances on sailboats or motorboats, for example between the helm console and the chart table, or to extend up to the masthead. It connects via T-connectors (not included) to which various instruments are linked using spur cables. The significant length of this cable limits the number of connection points, reducing the risk of failure and signal loss.
Technical specifications
This cable is designed to withstand demanding marine environments. The connectors are watertight and keyed to prevent incorrect connections. It is a passive network component, but its manufacturing quality is critical for the stability and performance of your entire Raymarine navigation electronics system. Compared to shorter cables in the same range, this 9-meter model is the preferred solution for installations on boats over 10–12 meters to create a continuous and robust backbone.
