The Scanstrut Deck pass-through for connectors up to 30mm diameter (DS30-P) is a marine cable management solution designed to ensure watertight integrity when routing pre-terminated cables through the deck or bulkhead of your vessel. This specific model, made of plastic (suffix -P), offers excellent corrosion resistance in marine environments, distinguishing it from the stainless steel versions (-S) from the brand.

Technical design and IP68 watertightness

The DS30-P is designed to accommodate connectors with a maximum diameter of 30 mm (ØB), allowing complex cables to pass through without cutting. Once the connector is in place, the supplied watertight cable gland, featuring interchangeable bungs, adapts to cable diameters ranging from 9 mm to 14 mm (E). Scanstrut’s robust design ensures IP68 certified watertightness, effectively protecting your marine electronic systems from water ingress and harsh weather. Its physical dimensions are 59 mm (ØA) top diameter, 56 mm (ØC) base diameter, and 20.5 mm (D) in height.

Positioning within the Scanstrut DS range

The Scanstrut DS30-P is positioned as an intermediate solution in the Scanstrut DS series, alongside models such as the DS6 (for 2–6 mm cables), the DS16 (connectors up to 16 mm), the DS21A/B (up to 21 mm), and the DS40 (up to 40 mm). This range provides flexibility for various connector and cable sizes, ensuring clean and secure integration of onboard electronics, whether for GPS antennas, NMEA sensors, or other equipment requiring a watertight cable pass-through. The DS30-P is supplied with the deck pass-through body, a gasket, four mounting screws, and a set of four bungs for different cable sizes (9–14 mm), including a solid bung for customization if needed.
