The Scanstrut SW-AMA-16 reducer is designed for mounting Intellian i3 satellite TV antennas, providing an optimized mounting solution for confined spaces aboard. It is compatible with the AMA-W wedge, allowing precise tilt adjustment for optimal satellite signal reception.

Robust design and space optimization

Made from a one-piece GRP (glass-reinforced plastic) composite molding, this reducer ensures structural strength and corrosion protection in a marine environment. Its design reduces the satcom antenna footprint by up to 60%, facilitating installation on narrow radar arches or other space-constrained surfaces. Mounting hardware is concealed for a clean, aesthetic finish. Antenna fasteners remain external for simplified installation and maintenance. The system includes a pre-installed watertight seal and cable glands, with pre-drilled mounting holes and a gasket for direct attachment.

Compatibility and system performance

The Scanstrut SW-AMA-16 is specifically adapted to Intellian i3 antennas, which feature a 37 cm parabolic diameter and weigh 9 kg. These antennas include a GPS for rapid signal acquisition and Wi-Fi connectivity for control via an antenna control unit. They operate on 9-30V DC power and utilize WRS (Wide Range Search) and DBT (Dynamic Beam Tilting) technologies for precise signal tracking. The reducer is designed to integrate with the AMA-W compensation wedge, which offers 0–12° adjustment to ensure a level mounting surface on inclined decks. For cable routing, the system is compatible with solutions such as the Scanstrut DS30 watertight cable gland, capable of accommodating cables from 9 to 14 mm in diameter and connectors up to 30 mm, ensuring IP68 waterproofing.
