Detailed description
Detailed description
The SIMRAD PSU R5000 power supply unit (reference 000-13225-001) is a critical component of the Simrad R5000 professional radar system. Designed to deliver stable, dedicated power, it ensures optimal operation of the entire radar installation, including the radar antenna and control units.
Specific Power Supply and System Integration
This power supply unit handles 110/230 V AC inputs (50/60 Hz) and provides multiple dedicated DC outputs: a 52 V DC output with 400 W power for the radar antenna, and two 24 V DC outputs with 80 W each for the R5000 processor, M5000 display, and O2000 controller. This configuration ensures power distribution tailored to the precise requirements of each R5000 system component, unlike generic power supplies that cannot provide these specific voltages. It is also compatible with HALO 5000 solid-state radars, highlighting its central role in the Simrad modular architecture.
Robust Design and Marine Compliance
With an operating temperature range of -15° C to 55° C and storage range of -20° C to 60° C, the PSU R5000 is built for demanding marine environments. Its IPx2 rating indicates resistance to water droplets for installation in protected environments. The unit complies with RMRS shock testing rules (2-020101-040-E Vol 2) and IEC60945 ed. 4.0 vibration requirements. It also meets European Council Directive 2014/90/EU on marine equipment, ensuring reliability and durability in professional applications. The unit weighs 5 kg and includes a DLY 10 A, 250 V fuse (5x20 mm), with a green constant LED for normal operation and a red LED for power status.
