Detailed description
The Victron Energy EasyPlus C 12/1600/70-16 is an integrated energy system designed for standalone or grid-connected installations. It combines an MPPT solar charge controller, a MultiPlus Compact inverter/charger, and an AC distribution panel in a single housing. This all-in-one design aims to simplify installation and reduce required wiring, providing a compact and efficient solution for onboard energy management. Unlike modular systems composed of separate components (for example, a separate MultiPlus, SmartSolar MPPT, and AC panel), the EasyPlus reduces installation time and complexity by integrating these key functions.
MultiPlus Compact Inverter/Charger
The unit integrates a pure sine wave inverter of 1600 VA (1300 W continuous at 25°C) with a peak power capacity of 3000 W. It delivers an output voltage of 230 VAC ± 2% at a frequency of 50 Hz ± 0.1%. Its maximum efficiency reaches 92%, with a standby consumption of 8 W. The PowerAssist® function allows supplementing a limited AC source (grid or generator) with inverter power to prevent overloads, while the PowerControl function enables setting a maximum AC input current. AC power transfer is uninterrupted, activating in less than 20 milliseconds in case of grid failure or disconnection of the external source.
The adaptive 4-stage battery charger (bulk, absorption, float, storage) ensures optimal charging for various battery types, with a charging current of 70 A for the service battery and 4 A for the starter battery. Charging voltages are 14.4 V in absorption, 13.8 V in float, and 13.2 V in storage mode. A battery temperature sensor is included to optimize charging.
MPPT 100/50 Solar Charge Controller
The integrated MPPT 100/50 solar charge controller can manage up to 700 W of PV power for a 12 V system, with a maximum open-circuit voltage of 100 V and a maximum output current of 50 A. It offers conversion efficiency up to 98% and uses an ultra-fast MPPT algorithm to maximize energy harvesting, even under partial shading conditions. Three sets of MC4 (PV-ST01) PV connectors are available for connecting solar panels.
AC Distribution and Physical Integration
The AC distribution is protected by a residual current device (RCD 30 mA/16 A) and includes four AC outputs: two protected by 10 A circuit breakers and two by 16 A circuit breakers. One 16 A output is controlled by the AC input, activating only when AC power is present. The unit is housed in a blue aluminum enclosure (RAL 5012) with IP21 protection. The unit measures 745 x 214 x 110 mm and weighs 15 kg. 1.5-meter battery cables and a G-ST18i connector for the AC input are provided, simplifying connections.
