Detailed description
Detailed description
The MultiPlus 24/1600/40-16 Victron Energy is an integrated power solution designed for marine and off-grid systems, combining the functions of a pure sine wave inverter, an adaptive battery charger, and a fast AC transfer switch. This model, identified by reference PMP242160000, delivers a continuous output power of 1600VA (1300W at 25°C) and includes a 40A charger for the main battery, complemented by a secondary 1A output for a starter battery. Its compact design aims to simplify installation and optimize space aboard.
Advanced power management and unique features
The MultiPlus stands out for its power management features, including the PowerControl function, which limits shore power or generator current consumption by adjusting battery charging. The PowerAssist technology extends this capability by temporarily increasing available power from the battery to supplement a limited AC source, enabling the use of high-peak-demand appliances. Additionally, its uninterruptible power supply (UPS) function ensures automatic and near-instantaneous (less than 20 milliseconds) transition to inverter mode in case of AC power failure, guaranteeing continuity for sensitive equipment.
Configuration flexibility and monitoring
This model offers high versatility, allowing configuration in parallel of up to six units to increase total power, or configuration of three units for a three-phase output. The 4-stage adaptive battery charger (bulk, absorption, float, storage) is compatible with various battery types (flooded lead-acid, AGM, GEL, Li-ion) and includes specific modes such as BatterySafe to prevent excessive gassing and Storage mode to minimize maintenance and aging of unused batteries. Remote monitoring and control are possible via the Victron Remote Management (VRM) app and web portal, providing comprehensive system management from a smartphone, tablet, or computer. Programmable analog/digital ports and programmable relays extend its integration and automation capabilities, including communication with lithium-ion battery BMS or generator starting.
