The Victron Energy MultiPlus C 12/1600/70-16 is a compact, versatile inverter-charger integrating a pure sine wave inverter, a sophisticated adaptive battery charger, and an ultra-fast AC transfer switch. This solution is optimized for marine applications, recreational vehicles, and off-grid systems, providing advanced energy management. Positioned in the MultiPlus C range, it stands out for its balance between power and compactness, making it ideal for installations where space is limited, while offering features typically associated with more powerful models in the MultiPlus series.
Conversion and charging capabilities
The MultiPlus C 12/1600/70-16 delivers a continuous output power of 1600 VA (1300 W) at 25°C, with a peak power of 3000 W. It provides an AC output voltage of 230 V with a tolerance of ±2% and a frequency of 50 Hz ±0.1%, ensuring stable power for sensitive equipment. The DC input is compatible with 12 V battery systems, accepting a voltage range of 9.5 to 17 V DC. Its 70 A adaptive battery charger optimizes battery health and lifespan, including Lithium-Ion batteries. The inverter's maximum efficiency reaches 93%.
Advanced features for intelligent energy management
Equipped with PowerAssist technology, the Victron MultiPlus C prevents overloading of limited AC sources (generators, shore power) by automatically reducing battery charging and boosting AC output with battery power if needed. The UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) function ensures uninterrupted AC power: in the event of a power outage, the inverter takes over in less than 20 milliseconds. An automatic 16 A transfer switch is integrated for seamless transition. The "Search Mode" reduces inverter energy consumption by approximately 70% when no load or very light load is present.

Up to six MultiPlus units can be connected in parallel to increase output power, and three identical units can be configured for three-phase output. Remote monitoring and control are possible via a Victron GX device (e.g., Cerbo GX) and the free VRM portal. The robust steel/ABS construction (RAL 5012) with IP21 protection rating and an operating temperature range of -40 to +65°C, with fan cooling, ensures reliability in marine or off-grid environments.
