Detailed description
Detailed description
The Victron Energy Quattro 48/5000/70-100/100 is a combined inverter/charger/automatic transfer switch system designed for advanced energy management in marine and off-grid installations. It integrates a 5000 VA sine-wave inverter, a 70 A adaptive battery charger for the service battery, and a dual AC transfer switch capable of handling two separate power sources with a maximum pass-through current of 2 x 100 A. This model is compatible with 48 V DC systems and delivers 230 V AC output.
Advanced energy management and flexible integration
Designed for maximum flexibility, the Quattro 48/5000/70-100/100 features two independent AC inputs, allowing simultaneous connection to the public grid, a generator, or a shore power source. Its automatic switching function ensures rapid transition to the active source. Unlike the MultiPlus, which has only one AC input, the Quattro can manage two separate sources, making it particularly advantageous for complex systems requiring redundancy or prioritized source management. The main AC output includes a "no-break" function, providing uninterrupted power to critical loads in less than 20 milliseconds, similar to an uninterruptible power supply (UPS). A second AC output is also available, active only when an external AC source is present, ideal for non-essential loads that should not discharge the batteries, such as water heaters.
Key features of the Quattro 48/5000/70-100/100
The Quattro integrates PowerControl and PowerAssist functions. PowerControl limits AC input current to prevent overloading generators or shore power connections, allocating surplus power to battery charging. PowerAssist boosts the available power from a limited AC source by drawing additional energy from the battery during peak consumption, then uses excess power to recharge the battery once demand decreases. This system is designed for demanding environments, with IP21 protection and an aluminum housing. It supports parallel operation (up to 6 units for increased power) and three-phase configurations, offering scalability for large-scale installations. The Quattro also features a VE.Bus communication port for system integration and remote monitoring via GX devices (such as Cerbo GX or Ekrano GX) and the Victron Energy VRM Online Portal, enabling full configuration and tracking.
