Designed for embedded systems requiring intelligent charge management for two battery banks, the Smart IP43 Charger 12/30 (1+1) by Victron Energy is an adaptive charging solution. This model delivers 30 A to the main service battery and up to 4 A to a secondary starter battery, providing flexibility for various installations. Its natural convection design ensures silent operation, while the blue aluminum housing (RAL 5012) ensures discreet integration. Electronic components are protected to IP43, and the connection area to IP22, indicating resistance to moderate water splashes.
Features and technical integration
The Smart IP43 Charger 12/30 (1+1) integrates Bluetooth Smart technology, enabling wireless configuration, monitoring, and updates via the VictronConnect app. It also supports a VE.Direct interface for wired connection to GX devices such as the Cerbo GX, facilitating remote reading via VRM. The charger automatically compensates for DC wiring voltage drops and uses a 6-step adaptive charging algorithm (bulk – absorption – recondition – float – storage – refresh), optimized for different battery types, including Li-ion batteries (LiFePO₄) with a 3-step algorithm. The BatterySafe function prevents excessive gassing, and the Storage mode minimizes battery maintenance and aging during prolonged inactivity. A programmable relay and a remote on/off port extend control and system integration options. This charger accepts an input voltage range of 85 to 250 VAC or 90 to 375 VDC, with a maximum efficiency of 95%.
