Designed to optimize energy management on board, the Smart IP43 Charger 24/16 (1+1) from Victron Energy is an intelligent battery charger that delivers 16 A for the service battery and a 4 A auxiliary output for the starter battery. This (1+1) configuration distinguishes it from the Smart IP43 Charger (3) models, which offer three full-current outputs, making it ideal for installations requiring simultaneous and differentiated charging of two separate battery banks. Its universal power supply (85 – 250 VAC or 90 – 375 VDC) ensures flexible use. With a maximum efficiency of 96 %, it ensures efficient energy conversion.
Intelligent management and advanced connectivity
This charger integrates Bluetooth Smart technology for wireless configuration and control via the VictronConnect app, enabling real-time monitoring and parameter adjustment. The VE.Direct interface provides a wired connection for integration into more complex systems such as GX devices. The adaptive 6-stage charging algorithm (3 stages for Li-ion batteries) optimizes the process based on battery usage, including BatterySafe modes to prevent excessive gassing and Storage mode to minimize aging when the battery is not in use. It is also compatible with Li-ion (LiFePO₄) battery charging, with possible control via an external BMS. Automatic voltage compensation and external voltage/temperature sensing (via Smart Battery Sense or BMV-712 Smart Battery Monitor) improve charging accuracy. The synchronized charging function via VE.Smart Networking allows coordination of multiple chargers for increased efficiency.
Robust design for the marine environment
This charger is cooled by natural convection, eliminating the need for fans and reducing noise and potential failure points. Its IP43 protection makes it suitable for marine environments where exposure to splashes is possible.
