Victron Energy’s VE.Can communication system is a cornerstone for integrating and managing advanced marine energy installations. Primarily integrated with SmartSolar MPPT charge controllers, such as the 150/70, 150/85, and 150/100 models, it enables a robust and synchronized multi-controller architecture.
Advanced Performance and Synchronization
The VE.Can technology allows synchronization of up to 25 SmartSolar MPPT charge controllers. This feature is critical for large-scale solar systems, ensuring coordinated charge management and overall energy optimization. Unlike Bluetooth, which is limited to 10 units, VE.Can significantly expands expansion possibilities, enabling maximum solar energy harvesting, especially in cloudy conditions or partial shading where light intensity varies constantly. The ultra-fast MPPT algorithms and advanced maximum power point detection ensure conversion efficiency exceeding 98%.
System Integration and Flexibility
In addition to synchronization, the VE.Can interface facilitates wired connection to other Victron Energy GX devices, such as the Color Control GX, for centralized monitoring and in-depth control. This connectivity complements the VE.Direct interface and integrated Bluetooth Smart, offering versatile communication options. VE.Can-compatible controllers feature a fully programmable charging algorithm with eight selectable presets via a rotary switch. They also include extended electronic protections against overheating, PV short circuits, and polarity reversal, ensuring the longevity and safety of the installation. Features such as fully discharged battery recovery and a programmable relay complete the offering of these systems.
