Detailed description
Detailed description
The XSONIC Airmar SS75M (20°) is a through-hull transducer designed for sport fishing vessels and commercial boats up to 8 meters (26 feet) in length. It provides depth and water temperature data with high responsiveness.
CHIRP Medium Frequency Technology
This model features CHIRP technology on the medium frequency band, ranging from 80 kHz to 130 kHz. This range enables seafloor detection with increased resolution and detail, facilitating the distinction between baitfish, game fish, and submerged structures. The medium frequency offers a balance between shallow-water detail and bottom tracking capability in deeper waters.
XSONIC Airmar SS75M (20°) Design and Installation
The SS75M is a through-hull transducer with a tilted element. Its stainless steel housing makes it compatible with all hull materials. The fixed 20° tilt angle is specifically suited for hulls with a deadrise angle between 16° and 24° at the mounting point, ensuring the sonar beam is vertically oriented toward the seafloor. Its low profile minimizes hydrodynamic drag. The transducer comes with a 10-meter (33-foot) cable and a 9-pin connector, compatible with Simrad and Lowrance systems. The integrated Xducer ID® technology allows automatic transducer identification by compatible equipment.
Performance and Durability
With a power output of 600 W, the XSONIC Airmar SS75M (20°) transducer can reach a maximum depth of 274 meters (900 feet). Its 24° to 16° beam in medium frequency ensures optimal coverage. The stainless steel housing provides resistance suited to marine environments. Airmar certifies that applying Foulfree-type coatings does not degrade transducer performance, helping maintain efficiency by limiting biofouling for up to two years.
