The Class 40 from Normandy of the scow generation Lift V2

FRA 199, designMarc Lombard Lift V2, built in the colors of the Normandy-based companyLegallais (distributor of second-line building products) and skippered by ARGO SUM SAS. Official christening name at measurement: Cogito II. Launched late August 2023 in Caen, christened on September 9, 2023.

Architecture and construction

Scow hull of the Lift 40 line by Marc Lombard Naval Architect (La Rochelle): high-volume bow sections, widened aft beam, optimized water intakes for light-air sailing. Built in 8 months in partnership between two yards: Grand Largue Composites (hull) and V1D2 in Caen (finishing).

Results 2024–2026

  • 2024: winnerCIC Normandy Channel Race with Fabien Delahaye and Benjamin Schwartz. First Norman victory in the race since its creation in 2010.
  • 2024: 3rd The Transat CIC (Delahaye solo)
  • 2024: 2nd Transat Quebec-Saint-Malo as a crew of four (Delahaye, Schwartz, Corentin Douguet, Henri Lechartier), time 14d 19h 36m 14s.
  • 2025: winnerLes Sables-Horta-Les Sables in double-handed racing with Pierre Leboucher
  • 2025: 3rd CIC Normandy Channel Race
  • 2025: 6th Transat Café L'Or (Delahaye-Leboucher)
  • 2025: 2nd in the Class 40 championship
  • 2026: 3rd Trin'40 (La Trinité-sur-Mer, April 2026, 1,200 nm in 4d 4h 15m)

2026 program

CIC Normandy Channel Race double-handed (May 31), Drheam Cup solo (July 12), then Route du Rhum – Destination Guadeloupe (start November 1, 2026, 3,542 nm) – major end-of-year objective.
