Jean-Baptiste Epron
Graphic designer of offshore racing yachts for 20 years
Jean-Baptiste Epron is a graphic designer specializing in the visual branding of racing sailboats. He designs liveries, integrates partner logos, and crafts the visual identity of the boats — not their architecture or ergonomics. A former racer (two Jules Verne Trophies on Orange, two Solitaires du Figaro, last competitive season in 2009), he works from Paris, Lorient, and Finistère.
The profession
He takes the hull designed by the naval architect (Verdier, VPLP, Manuard, Lombard...) and transforms it into a visible canvas for sponsors: color choices, logo placement, patterns integrated into the hull and sails. Two to three months of work per project, rates from €1,000 to €30,000 depending on the boat size and complexity of the order.
Skysat on board
Skysat equipped the Ocean Fifty Edenred 5, whose livery was designed by Epron.
