Maretron: NMEA 2000 network and embedded monitoring
Maretron is associated with electronic architectures that centralize onboard data on an NMEA 2000 network. The benefit is to structure measurement, diagnostics, and supervision: network power, wiring, sensors, interfaces, and displays must work together to produce reliable information both while sailing and at anchor.
Building a coherent data architecture
A Maretron installation is first conceived as a network: a properly powered backbone, terminations at each end, suitable branches, reliable connectors, and controlled cable length. The Network accessories, Electronic cabling, Network cabling, and Ethernet collections allow you to complete this physical layer when the architecture needs to interface with other electronic equipment.
Supervision, gateways, and diagnostics
Embedded monitoring is not just about displaying a value: you need to know where the data comes from, how it flows, and which device must process it. Gateways, diagnostic interfaces, and conversion modules are useful for connecting equipment from different generations, relaying information to a display, or linking the network to a configuration software. The Data switching, Interfaces & gateways, and I/O modules collections group related families for this type of integration.
Power, alarms, and critical data
Onboard a boat, voltage, current, tank, engine, temperature, or circuit state data only become truly useful when they trigger clear alerts and remain readable in the right location. For a reliable installation, check NMEA 2000 compatibility, available power, any required isolation, protection ratings, and alarm logic before adding a new module to the network.
Before choosing
Before ordering, map existing equipment, used protocols, data to be measured, and desired display points. A Maretron architecture must remain readable and maintainable: documenting cables, addresses, sensors, and terminations avoids many hard-to-diagnose failures. For complete installations, pair this collection with Electrical and Navigation electronics to maintain a global view of the boat.
