Designed to enhance the marine audio experience, the Clarion CMR-L1 remote control allows extended customization of RGB LED lighting on compatible marine speakers and subwoofers. It provides precise control of lighting effects to create the desired onboard ambiance.
Control features
The CMR-L1 offers 20 dynamic modes with 10 speed levels for animated effects. Users can select from 20 fixed static colors and 7 pre-programmed colors directly accessible (white, red, green, blue, yellow, aqua, pink). The brightness is adjustable across 8 levels to adapt to all lighting conditions.
Technical specifications and durability
Operating on an input voltage of 10 to 15V DC, the system uses an RF frequency of 433.92 MHz for an operational range of up to 15 meters (49.2 feet) without requiring line of sight. The maximum output capacity is 2A, with a recommended fuse rating of 10A (not included). The operating temperature range extends from -20°C to +70°C (-4°F to +158°F).
The compact controller module (12.7 x 50.8 x 5.8 mm) is designed for discreet installation. Its printed circuits are coated to resist corrosion in marine environments. It holds Salt & Sun certifications (ASTM B117 for salt spray and ASTM D4329 for UV exposure), as well as a 3.0G vibration resistance rating.
Installation and compatibility
Installation of the controller module requires a connection to the boat’s electrical system (10-15VDC) via two 20-gauge wires. The wireless remote is powered by a CR2025 battery (3V, included). This system is specifically compatible with Clarion marine speakers and subwoofers equipped with RGB LEDs.
While the controller module features a robust marine-grade design, the remote control and controller are generally not water-resistant and must be protected from direct exposure to elements or splashes.
