Detailed description
Detailed description
The Garmin ECLIPSE SL100 2.5-metre white LED strip is a flexible marine lighting solution designed for decorative and indirect lighting on various types of vessels. Part of the ECLIPSE collection by Lumishore, this LED strip combines robust construction with versatile control options, distinguishing it from RGB versions that require an ECLIPSE control hub and optional expansion modules for full control.
Design and Technical Specifications
With a length of 2.5 metres and a density of 60 LEDs per metre, the SL100 delivers white lighting at 5000 K. It operates exclusively on 12V DC systems, with a voltage range of 10 to 15V DC. Maximum power consumption is 6 watts per metre, drawing 0.5 A at 12V. The fully encapsulated and sealed design provides IP68 protection, making it suitable for indoor and outdoor installations, including damp areas, though it is not designed for permanent submersion. The strip is made from UV-resistant material but should be avoided in areas of direct and intense sunlight to preserve durability. Dimensions are 10.8 mm in width by 5.2 mm in height.
Flexibility and Installation
The flexibility of the ECLIPSE SL100 LED strip allows integration into various spaces such as coamings, beneath furniture, or behind ceiling panels. It has a minimum bending radius of 50 mm on the vertical axis, but it must not be bent on the horizontal axis or twisted. Installation is simplified by the ability to cut the strip at marked points and seal it using the supplied silicone adhesive and end caps. Mounting is achieved via included 3M adhesive strips or screw-in clips. For outdoor installations, in damp areas, or with tight bending radii, the use of additional mechanical fasteners every 250 to 300 mm is recommended. The SL100 series is also available in 1-metre and 5-metre lengths, offering options for different configurations. Bicolour (blue and white) and RGB versions are also available, with specific wiring and control requirements for the latter.
