The JL Audio M3-650X-C-Gw flush-mount marine speakers are 6.5" 2-way coaxial speakers designed for high-performance audio reproduction in marine environments. These speakers are optimized for infinite baffle mounting, requiring a minimum air volume of 57 liters (2 cubic feet) for optimal low-frequency performance.
Design and acoustic performance
Each M3-650X-C-Gw speaker features a mineral-filled polypropylene injection-molded woofer cone with UV inhibitors and a synthetic rubber surround. The woofer motor uses JL Audio’s DMA (Dynamic Motor Analysis) optimization for improved dynamic behavior, better bass extension, increased efficiency, and optimized power handling. The 0.75" (3/4") silk dome tweeter includes neodymium magnets and Ferrofluid cooling for detailed, smooth high-frequency response. A polyswitch protection circuit is integrated into the tweeter to minimize failure risk.
Marine durability and installation
Built for marine use, these speakers exceed international standards for salt fog and UV resistance. Their UV-resistant polymer baskets and grilles encapsulate the woofer motor systems to prevent corrosion. The M3-650X-C-Gw speakers handle 60 watts RMS continuous power per speaker (120 watts per pair) and 225 watts peak power, with a 4-ohm impedance and a frequency response of 55 Hz to 25,000 Hz (±3 dB). Sensitivity is 89.5 dB at 1 W / 1 m. The cutout diameter is 4.972" (127–133 mm), the frame outer diameter is 6.90" (175 mm), and the mounting depth is 2.825" (69.5 mm). For the optional RGB LED lighting, a separate 12 V wiring harness is required for each speaker, along with a 150 mA inline fuse on the positive LED cable. Classic white grilles are included.
