Designed for marine environments, the JL Audio M6-100CT-C/S-3Gw flush-mount marine tweeters are 25 mm (1 inch) silk dome tweeters optimized for high-frequency reproduction. Sold as a pair, they feature a glossy white finish with white grille and mounting cups, blending discreetly with the aesthetics of various boats.
Marine Construction and Durability
These tweeters feature high-quality marine construction, providing resistance to corrosion and UV exposure. They are engineered to withstand harsh marine conditions, including salt air, moisture, and sunlight, exceeding international standards for salt spray and UV exposure. The product is water-resistant but must not be submerged or exposed to high-pressure water jets.
Audio Performance and Integration
The 25 mm silk dome diaphragm delivers high output and wide sound dispersion, enabling detailed high-frequency playback (frequency response 4800 Hz to 25 000 Hz ± 3 dB with high-pass filter). With an RMS power of 75 watts per tweeter and 4-ohm impedance, they are compatible with marine amplifiers rated 10 to 75 watts per channel. The 91 dB @ 1W/1m sensitivity ensures high efficiency. Third-order external high-pass filters are included to improve sound smoothness and power handling, while an integrated protection circuit minimizes the risk of tweeter failure.
Installation Options and Aesthetics
The JL Audio M6-100CT-C/S-3Gw offer flush-mount or surface-mount installation options for flexible setup. The cutout diameter for flush-mount installation is 54 mm (2.125 inches) with a depth of 43 mm (1.70 inches). For surface-mount installation, the front protrusion is 32 mm (1.27 inches). The frame diameter is 66 mm for flush-mount and 68 mm for surface-mount. "Classic" and "Sport" trim rings are supplied, allowing the tweeters’ appearance to match the boat’s interior or other M6 speakers.
