The JL Audio M6-650VeX-Gw-S-GwGw marine flush-mount speakers are a 2-way 6.5-inch coaxial system designed for high-performance audio reproduction in marine and off-road environments. These speakers are engineered to withstand harsh conditions while delivering clear and powerful sound.
Marine Construction and Audio Specifications
Each speaker features a 6.5-inch (165 mm) woofer and a 0.75-inch silk dome tweeter. The system handles a continuous RMS power of 75 watts per speaker, with a recommended amplifier power of 25 to 150 watts per channel. The nominal impedance is 4 ohms, and the frequency response extends from 100 Hz to 25,000 Hz (± 3 dB), with a sensitivity of 89.5 dB at 1 W / 1 m. The woofers use an injection-molded polypropylene cone with mica reinforcement and a synthetic rubber surround. The coaxial design integrates the tweeter within the woofer for consistent sound dispersion. The woofers are optimized with DMA for reduced distortion, improved transient performance, and enhanced bass quality.
Durability and Installation
Built for marine and off-road use, these speakers feature UV- and corrosion-resistant polymer baskets and grilles. Advanced 2-way crossovers are mounted to the woofer baskets, including electronic tweeter protection circuitry. The enclosure dimensions are 7.03 inches (179 mm) in diameter and 6.17 inches (157 mm) in depth. The total height with the mounting bracket is 7.27 inches (185 mm). A swivel mount is included to adapt to various JL Audio mounting brackets (sold separately), allowing precise sound aiming. Each speaker comes with 10 feet (approximately 3.05 meters) of marine-grade 16 AWG speaker cable.
Styling and LED Lighting
The design features a gloss white finish with white sport grilles and an adjustable aluminum decorative cap for mounting applications. This model includes integrated multicolor RGB LEDs for accent lighting. These LEDs require a separate 12 V wiring for power, with a current draw of 324 mA at 12 V DC and a recommended 500 mA fuse. The LED voltage range is 10 to 14.4 V DC. An RGB lighting controller (sold separately) is recommended for adjustable color control. The M6 speakers are manufactured at the JL Audio factory in Miramar, Florida, USA.
