The JL Audio M6-650VeX-Mb-S-Gmti-i marine tower speakers are designed for high-performance audio applications in marine environments, motorized sports, and off-road vehicles. These 6.5-inch 2-way coaxial speakers deliver clear sound reproduction and withstand harsh conditions.
Design and acoustic performance
Each M6-650VeX speaker features a 6.5-inch (16.5 cm) woofer with an injection-molded polypropylene cone, mica-injected, and fitted with a synthetic rubber surround. These materials are UV-inhibited for extended marine use. The 0.75-inch (3/4") silk dome tweeter ensures accurate high-frequency reproduction. The system delivers a continuous RMS power of 75 watts per speaker and a peak power of 225 watts. Nominal impedance is 4 ohms, with a frequency response of 100 Hz to 25 kHz (± 3 dB) and an efficiency of 89.5 dB at 1 W / 1 m. Recommended RMS amplifier power per channel ranges from 25 to 150 watts.
Marine-grade durability and integrated lighting
The JL Audio M6-650VeX marine-grade construction is designed to withstand marine environments, including exposure to saltwater, sun, and weather. UV-resistant polymer baskets and grilles, marine-grade synthetic fiber spiders, and gold-plated brass terminals contribute to system durability. These speakers feature an RGB Transflective™ LED lighting system that projects a color effect through the woofer cone, offering multiple color options. An optional RGB controller (sold separately, e.g., JL Audio MLC-RW or RFRGBMC) allows color variation. Injection-molded enclosures are robust and optimized for high audio quality.
Installation and physical specifications
Each VEX™ pod is equipped with a rotating clamp receiver for mounting to appropriate fixtures (sold separately), allowing precise aiming on flat surfaces, safety arches, or tower structures. A decorative aluminum cap adorns the end opposite the speaker and can be oriented to suit mounting applications. Enclosure dimensions are 179 mm (7.03 inches) in diameter and 157 mm (6.17 inches) in depth. Total height including the mounting clamp receiver is 185 mm (7.27 inches). M6 speakers are manufactured at JL Audio’s Miramar, Florida facility using global components and materials.
