Designed for demanding marine environments, the JL Audio M6-650X-S-GmTi 6.5-inch coaxial marine speakers deliver detailed sound reproduction and robustness suited to nautical conditions. These 2-way coaxial speakers feature advanced acoustic design and rugged construction, ensuring reliable audio performance at sea.
Acoustic design and power
The M6-650X-S-GmTi integrates a 6.5-inch (165 mm) woofer with a mineral-filled polypropylene cone, UV-resistant, paired with a synthetic rubber surround. The 0.8-inch (20 mm) pure silk dome tweeter is marine-treated for clear high-frequency response. These speakers handle a continuous RMS power of 75 Watts and a peak musical power of 150 Watts, with a nominal impedance of 4 Ohms. The recommended amplifier power range is 25 to 150 Watts per RMS channel. The frequency response extends from 55 Hz to 25 kHz (± 3 dB), with a sensitivity of 89.5 dB at 1 W/1 m, providing balanced sound reproduction.
Marine resistance and flexible installation
Built with corrosion- and UV-resistant materials, the JL Audio M6-650X-S-GmTi speakers exceed industry standards for saltwater exposure and UV rays. Their long-throw woofer design, optimized by JL Audio’s proprietary Dynamic Motor Analysis (DMA), improves output, bass extension, and power handling while reducing distortion. These speakers are optimized for "infinite-baffle" mounting, requiring no dedicated enclosure behind them, allowing versatile installation. The 2-way multi-order passive crossover is integrated into the woofer frame, including a semiconductor tweeter protection circuit. Mounting depth is 76 mm (3.00 inches), with a cutout diameter of 127 to 133 mm (5.00 - 5.25 inches). The outer frame diameter is 175 mm (6.90 inches), and the Sport grille protrudes by 26 mm (1.02 inches).
Aesthetics and manufacturing
The M6-650X-S-GmTi speakers feature a Sport Gunmetal grille with a titanium insert, offering a marine-grade aesthetic. This model does not include RGB lighting. M6 series speakers are manufactured at JL Audio’s Miramar, Florida facility using globally sourced components and materials.
