The JL Audio M6-880X-S-GmTi flush-mount marine speakers are 2-way coaxial systems with 8.8-inch drivers designed for marine-grade sound quality and durability. These speakers integrate a woofer and a tweeter optimized for outdoor and humid environments.
Marine audio performance
With an 8.8-inch (224 mm) diameter, the M6-880X-S-GmTi features long-throw woofers delivering deep bass impact and dynamic sound even without a dedicated enclosure (optimized for infinite baffle operation). Compared to 6.5-inch marine speakers, the 8.8-inch models provide increased cone area and excursion, resulting in +6 dB higher bass output. Each speaker handles 125 Watts RMS continuous power (250 Watts per pair) and a peak power of 250 Watts. The frequency response ranges from 38 Hz to 20 kHz (± 3 dB), with a nominal impedance of 4 Ohms and a sensitivity of 90.5 dB @ 1W/1m. The 1.25-inch (32 mm) treated silk dome tweeters ensure accurate high-frequency reproduction.
Design and durability
The JL Audio M6-880X-S-GmTi speakers are built with corrosion- and UV-resistant materials, exceeding international standards for salt spray and UV exposure. The woofer features a mineral-filled injection-molded polypropylene cone with a synthetic rubber surround. A passive 2-way multi-order crossover network is integrated into the speaker’s terminal assembly, with a semi-conductor tweeter protection circuit for vibration and corrosion resistance. JL Audio’s DMA (Dynamic Motor Analysis) optimization improves motor dynamics, increasing output power, bass extension, and power handling.
Features and aesthetics
These speakers include RGB LED lighting behind the cone, utilizing JL Audio’s patented Transflective™ RGB technology for a light effect through the woofer. An optional RGB controller allows selection from numerous color variations. The design features open-style Gunmetal sport grilles with Titanium accents. The grille and trim ring are removable for color customization. The mounting diameter is 187 mm (7.375 inches) with a mounting depth of 127 mm (5.0 inches).
