Detailed description
Detailed description
The JL Audio MV700/5i marine amplifier is a 5-channel Class D amplification solution specifically designed for marine environments. It integrates JL Audio’s second-generation NexD2™ technology, delivering high-quality audio amplification with high energy efficiency. This model features an integrated digital signal processor (DSP) for detailed audio control without traditional analog adjustments.
Power and Audio Performance
The MV700/5i delivers a total RMS power of 700 watts at 14.4V. The main channels provide 75 W x 4 at 4 Ω, or 100 W x 4 at 2 Ω. In bridged mode, they reach 200 W x 2 at 4 Ω. The subwoofer channel offers 180 W x 1 at 4 Ω, 240 W x 1 at 3 Ω, and 300 W x 1 at 2 Ω. The frequency response is 12 Hz to 24 kHz (+0, -1dB) for the main channels and 12 Hz to 1 kHz (+0, -1dB) for the subwoofer channel. The signal-to-noise ratio is 99 dB for both types of analog inputs.
Advanced Digital Processing and Connectivity
This model integrates an AKM® triple-core DSP with 24-bit 96 kHz digital processing, offering comprehensive audio tuning capabilities. Configuration and tuning are performed via JL Audio’s TüN™ software applications, compatible with PC, Mac, iOS, or Android, through a wired USB connection or an optional Bluetooth® VXi-BTC communicator. The DSP allows routing and mixing of inputs, adjustable gain controls with clip indicators, fully adjustable high-pass, low-pass, and band-pass filters (6-48 dB/octave), a 10-band equalizer (graphic or parametric), phase and polarity control, and time alignment in 0.02 ms increments.
The differential-balanced analog inputs provide noise rejection and accept input signals from 250 mV to 16 V RMS. The JLid™ System Command system facilitates integration with optional JLid™ accessories and multi-amplifier systems. The amplifier also features 6 preamplified analog outputs (4V RMS) with independent DSP processing and an automatic power-on function via signal detection or DC offset.
Marine Design and Installation
Designed for durability in marine environments, the MV700/5i amplifier has a compact cast-alloy chassis with a marine-grade powder-coated finish and corrosion-resistant fasteners and connectors. It is rated IPX2 for water resistance when mounted vertically with connections facing downward. Its dimensions are approximately 355 mm x 52 mm x 176 mm (L x H x D). A 60 A fuse (AFS, AGU, or MaxiFuse™) is recommended for system protection.
