Detailed description
Detailed description
Designed for demanding marine and automotive environments, the JL Audio XDM600/1 marine amplifier is a Class D monoblock amplifier specifically built for subwoofers. It delivers 600 watts RMS at 2 ohms and 400 watts RMS at 4 ohms (at 14.4V and 1% THD), ensuring efficient amplification for low-frequency reproduction.
NexD™ Technology and Robust Design
The XDM600/1 amplifier features JL Audio’s exclusive NexD™ switching technology, which provides high efficiency and significant power output in a compact form factor. Its design meets marine standards, using weather-resistant materials, a powder-coated black chassis, a sealed control cover, and stainless-steel hardware, making it suitable for marine installations. The damping factor is greater than 500 at 2 ohms and 50 Hz, and THD+N is less than 1% at rated power.
Integration and Audio Performance
With a frequency response of 7 Hz to 500 Hz (+0, -1dB), this amplifier is optimized for subwoofers. It includes a variable low-pass filter, continuously adjustable from 50 to 500 Hz with selectable slopes of 12 or 24 dB/octave, as well as a switchable subsonic filter at 30 Hz (24 dB/octave). Its balanced differential inputs minimize noise, allowing connection to various audio sources, including OEM systems with an RCA input voltage range of 200 mV to 4 V RMS. A dual-mode input filter (car/boat) is included for interference-free performance in different electrical environments. The amplifier features automatic turn-on via DC offset or signal detection and is compatible with optional HD-RLC or MHD-RLC remote level controllers for easy bass adjustment. Advanced protection against back-EMF monitors the amplifier’s thermal condition and adjusts operation to prevent shutdowns. The recommended fuse is 50 A (AFS, AGU, or MaxiFuse™), and the recommended power/ground wire gauge is 4 AWG. Its dimensions are approximately 216 mm L x 52 mm H x 180 mm D.
