The JL Audio M6-8IB-S-GmTi-4 marine subwoofer is an 8-inch (200 mm) solution designed for low-frequency reproduction in nautical environments. It features an infinite baffle design, optimized to fit directly into bulkheads or large air cavity enclosures without requiring a dedicated enclosure, offering installation flexibility.
Acoustic performance and integration
This subwoofer delivers a continuous power output of 200 watts RMS with a nominal impedance of 4 ohms. It has a sensitivity of 86.8 dB SPL (1W/1m) and a linear excursion (Xmax) of 13.5 mm / 0.53 inches, enabling extended frequency response and precise bass reproduction. The subwoofer is optimized for a recommended air volume of at least 42.5 litres (1.5 cu. ft.) in infinite baffle configuration. DMA (Dynamic Motor Analysis) technology is used to minimize distortion and improve transient performance, ensuring consistent sound quality.

The M6-8IB-S-GmTi-4 is engineered to withstand marine conditions. It is built with materials resistant to saltwater, corrosion, and UV rays. The cone is made of mica-injected polypropylene (MIPP) with UV inhibitors, while the suspension is in synthetic rubber. The corrosion-resistant polymer basket, marine-grade brass terminals, and stainless-steel mounting hardware contribute to its durability. The included Gunmetal & Titanium Sport grille is also UV-resistant and can be removed for custom painting.
