Specifically designed for demanding marine environments, the JL Audio M3-770ETXv3-Gw-S-Gw-i 7.7-inch coaxial marine tower speakers are 2-way systems integrated into injection-molded enclosures. These speakers are optimized for tower applications, delivering clear and powerful sound audible beyond the vessel.
Design and audio performance
The M3-770ETXv3-Gw-S-Gw-i system features a nominal impedance of 4 Ω. It delivers continuous RMS power handling of 70 W, with a peak musical power of 225 W. The system’s frequency response ranges from 45 Hz to 25 kHz ± 3 dB, with an efficiency of 90.5 dB at 1 W / 1 m. The speakers are equipped with 7.7-inch (196 mm) woofers featuring injection-molded polypropylene cones filled with mica, and 3/4-inch (19 mm) silk dome tweeters for high frequencies. The motor is optimized by JL Audio’s Dynamic Motor Analysis (DMA) system for reduced distortion and precise transient response. Passive 2-way crossovers are included.
Marine robustness and integrated lighting
The M3-770ETXv3-Gw-S-Gw-i construction is marine-grade, designed to withstand saltwater environments. Materials have undergone rigorous testing, including UV and salt spray chambers, ensuring reliability and longevity. UV- and corrosion-resistant polymer baskets and grilles are used. The enclosure is bright white with a bright white sport grille. It features integrated RGB LED lighting producing a light effect on the woofer cone. Colors can be selected via direct wiring or an optional RGB controller (sold separately), such as the JL Audio MLC-RW or RFRGBMC. The enclosure has a diameter of 196 mm (7.70 in) and a depth of 323 mm (12.69 in). Height including the mounting receiver is 222 mm (8.74 in). A 26 mm (1.04 in) offset is present between the mounting receiver and the enclosure. Decorative aluminum logo caps are also included.
Installation and connectivity
Installation of these speakers requires the use of JL Audio mounting brackets (sold separately), available for various tube diameters. Speaker and LED wiring exits through the center of the bracket. Connections are made via gold-plated marine-grade brass terminals, and mounting hardware is marine-grade stainless steel. Dedicated wiring is required for the LED functionality, including installation of an inline fuse at the end of the LED power connection (+12V) for each speaker.
