Detailed description
Detailed description
The Samlex CB823 automatic battery monitor is an energy management solution designed for precise monitoring of multiple battery banks in marine or standalone environments. Unlike solar charge controllers such as the Samlex MSK-10A, MSK-20A, or SCC-30AB, which manage power flow from solar panels, or automatic battery isolators like the ACR-160 that handle load distribution between batteries, the CB823 focuses on acquiring and displaying detailed data on battery status.
Multi-Bank Monitoring and Extended Capacity
This monitor allows monitoring up to three voltage-based battery banks and two current-based battery banks. It provides data display in analog, digital, or graphical mode, covering a voltage range from 0 to 32 VDC. The managed battery capacity ranges from 20 Ah to 999 Ah, and can be extended to 9999 Ah with additional features not detailed here. The CB823 also includes high and low voltage alarms for the three battery banks, ensuring rapid detection of potential issues. Its power supply is compatible with 9-35 VDC systems, and its consumption is 9 mA at 12 V, minimizing impact on autonomy.
Integration and Installation
The CB823 monitor stands out for its role as an interface. It includes a PC interface box (dimensions 86x66x27mm) and a connection cable to the E-XPERT pro system, indicating its ability to integrate into more complex energy management systems. The main unit dimensions are Ø 60x20mm, requiring a 55mm hole for flush mounting, followed by screwing onto a ring. These features position it as a monitoring and alert module, essential for users requiring increased visibility on the health of their battery banks, complementary to Samlex charge or isolation devices.
