From a Parisian architecture firm to the Ocean Fifty trimaran in seven years
Matthieu Perraut trained as an architect (studies in Versailles). In 2017, he left Paris and his firm to move to Pornichet and switch to full-time offshore racing. Mini-Transat 2019 in a Mini 6.50, then transition to Class40 in 2021 with support from Inter Invest. In 2024 he moved up to Ocean Fifty, and in 2025 he founded the teamBord à bord with Sébastien Rogues.
The Class40 No. 175 Inter Invest
The boat is a Max 40 designed by David Raison, built by JPS Production in La Trinité-sur-Mer and launched in 2022. Scow hull, twin lifting rudders. It was on this boat that Perraut achieved his first major results: 3rd in the CIC Normandy Channel Race and 2nd in the 2022 Class40 World Championship, then 7th in the 2023 Transat Jacques Vabre in double-handed racing with Kevin Bloch.
Route du Rhum 2022: collision with a floating object and mast loaned to Axel Tréhin
During the 2022 Route du Rhum, Perraut collided with a floating object and had to divert to Ponta Delgada in the Azores. Once there, he loaned his mast to Axel Tréhin so he could resume the race. A rare gesture in a solo transatlantic, reflecting both the class’s culture and the man’s character.
Switch to Ocean Fifty and Bord à bord team
In 2024, Inter Invest acquired the Ocean Fifty trimaranElvest, renamedInter Invest. In 2025, Perraut and Sébastien Rogues officially launched the teamBord à bord. For the season (Rolex Fastnet Race, 24H Ultim, Transat Café L'Or), they entrusted the trimaran’s helm to Pierre Quiroga — a deliberate choice to bring in an external racer rather than race themselves.

Achievements
- 2019: Mini-Transat (Mini 6.50).
- 2021: 23rd Transat Jacques Vabre (Class40, first season on the circuit).
- 2022: 3rd CIC Normandy Channel Race; 2nd in the Class40 World Championship; retired from the Route du Rhum (collision with a floating object, diversion to Ponta Delgada, mast loaned to Axel Tréhin to allow him to resume the race).
- 2023: 3rd in the 40’ Malouine Lamotte; 7th in the Transat Jacques Vabre (double-handed with Kevin Bloch on Class40 No. 175 Inter Invest).
- 2024: move to Ocean Fifty with the trimaranInter Invest (ex-Elvest).
- 2025: launch of the teamBord à bord with Sébastien Rogues. The duo entrusted the helm of the Ocean Fifty trimaranInter Invest to Pierre Quiroga for the season (Rolex Fastnet Race, 24H Ultim, Transat Café L'Or).
