Detailed description
The VHF Radio Pack, V100-B system, AIS+GPS 500 from B&G is a modular marine communication and safety system. It is built around a "black box"-type central unit and integrates a Class D DSC VHF radio, a Class B AIS transponder, and an external GPS antenna. Its NMEA 2000 and NMEA 0183 connectivity links to multifunction displays and onboard instrumentation.
Class B VHF and AIS
The VHF radio has selectable transmit power of 1W or 25W and is certified DSC Class D. The V100-B system differs from the V100 model by its integrated Class B AIS transponder (transmitter and receiver), which transmits the vessel's position and receives data from other AIS-equipped vessels. The pack includes the external GPS-500 antenna, which provides positioning for DSC and AIS functions, including when the black box is installed below deck.
Modular and scalable design
The V100-B system supports up to eight handsets in total: four wired H100 handsets (one included) and four wireless H60 handsets (optional), to form an onboard intercom system. It can be connected to up to four external speakers and an optional public address system. This expansion capability makes it suitable for large sailboats and motor yachts.
Features and specifications
The "Track Buddy" function allows tracking the position of five vessels via their MMSI number. An audio replay memory records the last 60 seconds of incoming communications. The main unit is waterproof to IPX7. The H100 handset features a night mode display, whose backlight can be synchronized with other B&G instruments via NMEA 2000 backlight groups.
