Detailed description
Detailed description
Designed for marine electrical installations, the B&G ST CLB 5052-BSS circuit breaker block is a compact 6-position solution with an integrated negative busbar. It is intended for protecting circuits under a maximum voltage of 32V DC, supporting up to 32A per circuit and a total load of 100A for the entire block in common-source configuration.
Design and Technical Specifications
This block integrates tinned copper busbars and screw terminals, ensuring reliable electrical conductivity and corrosion resistance in marine environments. The transparent insulating cover, featuring square label slots, meets ABYC/USCG isolation requirements. Installation is simplified by quick-connect clips that allow easy insertion of push-button circuit breakers (sold separately) and ensure secure retention. Specific openings provide wire access from two directions, and the block accepts #10 (M5) ring terminals. The screw terminals are #8-32 with captive lock washers, and mounting is via #8 (M4) screws or #8 nuts.
Positioning in the Range and Use
The 5052-BSS model is positioned as a common-source option with a negative busbar, making it suitable for systems where multiple loads share the same positive supply and a centralized negative return. It differs from the 5050 model, which offers 6 positions but with an independent source and no negative busbar, or the 5051, a 12-position version also with an independent source and no negative busbar. For higher capacity needs with a common source, the 5054 model offers 12 positions. The block operates within a temperature range of -10°C to 60°C, ensuring functionality in various environmental conditions. Jumpers are included with the 5050 and 5051 models to link multiple circuits, but are not required for the 5052 due to its common-source design. Push-button circuit breakers with single-reset functionality are specifically designed for this block.
