Ian Lipinski, born on September 20, 1981, in Paris, is a French offshore racing skipper. A graduate engineer from ISAE-SUPAERO (Toulouse), he learned to sail at Les Glénans before fully transitioning to ocean racing.

The Mini era: 16 consecutive victories with David Raison

Lipinski first dominated the Mini class in partnership with naval architect David Raison: 16 consecutive victories aboard Mini #865, including the 2015 Mini Transat (series class) and the 2017 Mini Transat (prototype class).

Class 40 — 8 years of partnership with Crédit Mutuel

The Crédit Mutuel × Lipinski partnership began in 2018. In 2019, the Class 40 #158 (David Raison) became the first scow Class 40, marking a revolution in the class. In 2024, Class 40 #202 took over for the second phase of the program.

  • 2019: winner Transat Jacques Vabre Class 40 with Adrien Hardy + Class 40 24-hour record
  • 2021: improved Class 40 24-hour record (with Ambrogio Beccaria)
  • 2022: winner Normandy Channel Race

  • 2024: 2nd The Transat CIC solo (aboard #158) — tight finish to the finish line
  • 2024: 13th Route du Rhum Destination Guadeloupe Class 40 in 16 days 14 hours 8 minutes 46 seconds
  • 2026: WINNER of the Globe 40 (2nd edition) aboard Class 40 Crédit Mutuel #202 — 5 stage wins out of 7, plus the prologue. Double-handed circumnavigation.

Program continuation

The program continues in 2026 with the Route du Rhum Destination Guadeloupe, the highlight of the second phase of the partnership with Crédit Mutuel Alliance Fédérale.
