Sasha Lanièce

Sasha Lanièce — engineer, PhD and data scientist turned to offshore racing. Founder of Les Déferlantes Sailing Team, the first all-female offshore racing team based in Lorient (Class 40 + Mini 6.50, 3 female skippers).

Trained at École Normale Supérieure, Sasha began offshore racing in 2019 and broke the 24-hour record during her solo transatlantic crossing in the 2023 Mini Transat. Alongside her German teammate Sanni Beucke, she started the 2025 Transat Café L'Or on the Class 40 Alderan. Target: the 2026 Route du Rhum.

Team mission: to use offshore racing to demonstrate that women can achieve what may seem unattainable and inspire future generations.
