Designed to provide advanced target detection and collision avoidance, the Lowrance HALO24 radar is a 24-inch pulse-compression radome. It stands out for its solid-state technology, which eliminates the warm-up time of traditional magnetrons, allowing instant start from standby mode. This model operates on the X-band (9.4 to 9.5 GHz) with a peak power of 25 W, offering a detection range from 6 meters to 48 nautical miles (89 km) with 18 range settings.
Advanced Technology for Safety and Performance
The Lowrance HALO24 integrates VelocityTrack™ Doppler technology, which provides instant visual feedback on the movement of radar targets. Approaching vessels are color-coded for better visibility, while those moving away are deprioritized, greatly simplifying collision avoidance without requiring manual target selection. This capability is complemented by the dual-range function, allowing simultaneous monitoring of distant weather conditions and immediate collision risks.
Integration and Technical Specifications
Compared to the Halo20 and Halo20+ models, the HALO24 features a 610 mm diameter and a weight of 6.9 kg (without cable), slightly larger than the 510 mm and 5.9 kg of the smaller versions, offering an antenna with a maximum allowable gain of 23.5 dBi. Its ultra-fast rotation speed of 60 rpm at ranges up to 2 nautical miles ensures a complete 360-degree sweep every second. The radar has a nominal horizontal beam width of 3.9°, sharpenable to 2° with the target separation function in high mode, and a vertical beam width of 22°. It is powered by 10.5–31.2 V DC, with a consumption of 17–29 W in operation and 3.9 W in standby. IPX6 certified, it is designed to withstand harsh marine environments, with an operating temperature range of -25°C to +55°C. Connectivity is via 100Base-T Ethernet, and it is compatible with Lowrance HDS LIVE multifunction displays.
