3 installation errors seen in the workshop — all brands

  1. Missing or undersized class T fuse.

    NH alone is not enough — Icc lithium exceeds 30 kA. Class T calibrated at max BMS current + 20%.

  2. Incompatible LFP alternator regulator left in place.

    The lead-acid profile (3 stages) destroys the batteries. Wakespeed WS500, Balmar MC-614 or Victron Orion XS required.

  3. No DC-DC isolator between alternator and BMS.

    Without a Load Dump absorber, the BMS triggers during charging → overvoltage → alternator diodes burned out.
