B&G's Triton Edge Processor is the central brain of your navigation instrumentation system, designed for demanding cruisers and racers. It processes raw sensor data to provide highly accurate, calibrated advanced navigation metrics. The Triton Edge ensures seamless integration with B&G Triton and Nemesis™ displays, as well as Vulcan™ and Zeus™ chartplotters, enriching the entire B&G ecosystem with superior performance information.
Advanced Performance and Navigation Data
The B&G Triton Edge Processor's microprocessor performs complex calculations to deliver enhanced navigation data. It provides advanced start line calculations, more accurate true wind data through self-calibration routines, and wind correction that accounts for boat heel and trim. The system also allows for detailed boat speed calibration for maximum data reliability. Configuration and calibration are simplified via AutoCal routines, accessible through the integrated web interface.
Connectivity and System Integration
The B&G Triton Edge Processor is equipped with an NMEA 2000 port (Micro-C connector), a 100BASE-T Ethernet port (5-pin connector), and internal Wi-Fi connectivity (802.11 b/g/n). This triple connectivity allows for extensive integration with onboard modules, sensors, and displays. An integrated web server, accessible via Wi-Fi or Ethernet, facilitates configuration, commissioning, and data management without requiring a dedicated display. Integration with the B&G Companion App allows for recording navigation data, uploading it to the cloud, and detailed analysis for performance tracking.
Triton Edge Processor Technical Specifications
The processor operates on a 12/24 V DC power supply (9.0 to 31.2 V DC range) with a maximum power consumption of 4 W, with a recommended 1 A fuse protection. Its waterproof housing is IPX6 and IPX7 certified, ensuring protection in harsh marine conditions. The operating temperature range is from -15 °C to 55 °C. The unit weighs 0.26 kg. To avoid interference, a safety distance of 50 cm from magnetic compasses must be maintained during installation.
