Alternator accessories: ensuring reliable engine charging

Alternator accessories control, protect, and correctly connect the engine’s electrical output. They are essential when the installation must charge a battery bank more demanding than a standard starter battery, particularly with AGM, gel, or lithium batteries.

Charge regulation

An external regulator adjusts voltage and current to the battery type while better utilizing the alternator’s capacity. The Alpha Pro III charge regulator manages charging curves and integrates into installations where the alternator must operate more precisely and durably.

Alternator temperature

Temperature is critical during prolonged engine charging. The 2 m alternator temperature sensor cable allows the regulation system to monitor overheating and adjust charging when the alternator reaches its thermal limits.

Wiring and insulation

Connections must be clean, clear, and correctly sized to avoid losses or measurement errors. The Alpha Pro wiring kit simplifies regulator connection, while the 6-ring insulation kit for Alpha Compact alternator is used in setups requiring suitable mechanical isolation.

Pre-installation checks

Verify compatibility with the alternator, system voltage, battery type, cable cross-section, and sensor placement. To build a complete system, also consult the alternators, power production, batteries, storage, and battery monitors collections.
