Audio Sources & Stereos: The Central Audio Control Unit Onboard
The audio source controls zones, inputs, streaming, and sometimes integration with the chartplotter or NMEA 2000 network. It is the starting point for a coherent marine installation.
This collection includes flush-mounted units, black boxes, Bluetooth receivers, and networked sources designed for boats. Key criteria include the number of zones, preamp outputs, streaming protocols, screen readability, and water resistance.
Skysat Advice
For a boat with more than two zones, first select the source based on zones and preamp outputs, then the speakers. If you want to control audio from a Garmin, B&G, Simrad, or Raymarine MFD, check network compatibility before purchasing amplifiers.
