Detailed description
Detailed description
The B&G V60 VHF radio with AIS-RX is a Class D DSC-approved fixed marine communication solution. It integrates essential safety and navigation features, including a dual-channel AIS receiver and a GPS receiver. Designed for seamless integration, it offers NMEA 2000 and NMEA 0183 connectivity, enabling the relaying of AIS and GPS information to multifunction displays and other onboard instruments.
Performance and technical specifications
The V60 operates on international channels (INT/US/CAN/EU) with a switchable transmit power of 25 W (<6 A) to 1 W (<1.5 A). Its frequency range extends from 156.025 to 157.425 MHz for transmission and from 156.050 to 163.275 MHz for reception, with a frequency stability of ±5 PPM. The receiver offers a sensitivity of -6 dBuV (EMF) for 12 dB SINAD, an adjacent channel selectivity of 70 dB, and an intermodulation response of 68 dB. The system operates with a nominal power supply of 13.6 V DC (minimum 10 V DC). Built for marine environments, this unit is waterproof to IPX7 standards and can operate in a temperature range of -15°C to +55°C.
Integrated AIS receiver and GPS
The V60 radio stands out with its integrated dual-channel AIS receiver, which continuously monitors the position of nearby AIS-equipped vessels to improve situational awareness and prevent collisions. The system can track up to 150 AIS targets. GPS redundancy is ensured through four means: an integrated front-panel GPS antenna, the option to connect an external GPS-500 antenna (sold separately), and the reception of position data via NMEA 2000 or NMEA 0183 networks. This configuration guarantees the transmission of your position during a DSC distress call, even if other electronic equipment fails.
Advanced features and modularity
The V60 is expandable with up to two optional H60 wireless handsets, providing freedom of movement on board and transforming the system into an internal intercom. The main remote microphone is removable and can be connected to the front or rear of the unit for flexible installation. Convenient navigation features are included, such as Navigation mode displaying speed and heading, a MOB (Man Overboard) function that records a waypoint and provides guidance, and a Track Buddy function to follow the position of up to five other vessels. The radio also supports an optional external speaker or megaphone for increased audio output.
